Toogood's collaboration with Spanish textile brand Teixidors, offers aplayful, textural take on a traditional favourite. Each blanket in the Criss-Cross 3,2,1 collection comprises of three distinct yet conjoined weaves that present a variety of delicate textures in a single piece. The textile triptychs are hand-loomed their workshop in Barcelona using natural organic merino wool, carefully washed to achieve a lightly felted and soft finish and hand combed sustainable Mongolian baby yak wool. Since 1983, the sole objective of Teixidors has been to achieve social inclusion of people with mental disabilities through textile handicraft. The manual loom as an instrument allows them to become experts in the field and develop the skills to transform high quality raw materials into exquisite and unique pieces.
