Sculpture Dining Table
Made to order
The Sculpture Dining Table is defined by surface expression and an asymmetric leg arrangement. Three tones of white automotive paint are hand-poured and marbled across the tabletop, then allowed to flow down the oak legs, creating a unique surface pattern on each piece.
The high-gloss lacquered finish initially reads as stone, referencing trompe l’oeil furniture traditions, before revealing the layers of paint and underlying structure on closer inspection.

The Sculpture Family
Sculpture is a family of tables that translates painterly gesture into functional form. The collection draws on the language of action painting, with surface, structure and movement treated as a single composition.
Each table is constructed from oak and finished with hand-poured layers of marbled automotive paint. The surface folds and flows like a waterfall, with pigment allowed to course down the legs in rivulets, revealing the making process rather than concealing it. Structural elements are deliberately offset, with legs shifting position and, in some cases, piercing the tabletop to articulate joints and corners.
While fully stable and functional, Sculpture retains a sense of motion and imbalance. No two pieces are identical. Variations in paint flow, layering and surface expression are inherent to the process and form part of the character of the family.

Materials & Process
At the heart of the studio is a restless spirit of experimentation, and a deep seated respect for materials. These two pillars of creativity and craft can be found in each piece, from the ironically plump Roly- Poly in glowing raw fibreglass, to the hardy Cobble collection finished in laboratory- grade ceramic glaze
