COLLECTION 023
Dear Friends,
Your watch ticks on. Never enough minutes to think. Lucky if you get a moment to pause, reflect, readjust your collar, neaten your tie and push on on onwards.
I was thinking about the stopped clock confidently doing its own thing – happy to be right twice a day. Working on Collection 023 I was seeking something reassuringly unfashionable. Clothes that feel a little outside of time. At what age do we start grumbling that vintage isn’t what it used to be?
Designing this collection Erica and I felt as if we were chasing clothes that have always been there. A sort of archetypal or ancestral wardrobe. Personal memories excavated from what Virginia Woolf describes as "that great Cathedral space which was childhood." A duffel coat with extraordinary oversized toggles. Prince of Wales check pulled from the Platonic ideal of a charity shop.
“Another Year” Clothes to adore, adorn, darn, patch and one day pass down.
Love Faye
